Subaru Debuts 2018 Subaru Forester Black Edition, Releases 2018 Forester Pricing Details

Subaru today debuted the 2018 Subaru Forester Black Edition, along with pricing details on the 2018 Forester lineup. The new Black Edition is an upgrade from the 2.5i Premium and arrives with Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT with paddle shifters, an upgrade previously only seen on turbo models.

The Subaru Forester Black Edition also comes standard with X-Mode and Hill Descent Control, and LED Steering Responsive Headlights. 18-inch black alloy wheels, fog lights with black accent trim, black finish exterior badges and mirrors, and a front grille with a blacked-out wing motif and chrome frame round out what makes the Black Edition “black”.

The Subaru Forester Black Edition doesn’t come in only the Crystal Black Silica exterior color. You can also opt for Dark Gray Metallic, Crystal White Pearl, or Ice Silver Metallic.

Inside, the Black Edition offers up exclusive black cloth upholstery seats with simulated leather bolsters, with a silver metallic and black gloss finish on the center dash panel. A leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift handle get highlighted with silver stitching.

Also standard on the new Subaru Forester Black Edition is the All-Weather Package, rear cargo tray, and Welcome Lighting. The 2.5i Forester Black Edition will be available exclusively on the Premium trim as an $1,150 option. Subaru also released pricing on the 2018 Forester models. The Forester 2.5i with the 6-speed manual starts at $22,795, while the 2.0XT Touring goes all the way up to $36,090.

As the original owner of a black ’04 XT with M/T, this looks good. Until they make it with the Sti engine and a 6 speed to match the looks, I’ll keep mine running.

  2. For the love of god, put the 6 speed back in the XT.

I have a 2017 forester, sad to say before the first oil change the oil light came on. With only 5300 miles having to add almost 2 quarts of oil. I thought this problem was repaired, after having subies since 1995 I am starting to question subaru’s longevity. Please fix this issue before you loose a devoted customer…
